If you are familiar with martial arts pre-school (ages 3 to 7) programs, you know that to motivate the younger set, many schools—perhaps your own—utilize a “mat chat” at the beginning of class. Those five to 10 minutes are key if you want to smooth the transition between everyday life and martial arts expectations, as well as, establish a fun relationship with your students.
Little Gi Venture’s preschool, mat chat curriculum, Chit Chat @ The Mat provides martial arts schools with an easy-to-implement, entertaining, weekly activity and discussion that can resonate through whatever drills you plan that day. Created specifically for the 2009-2010 school year, Chit Chat @ The Mat takes into consideration seasons, holidays, and the uniqueness of your particular school.

A Parent Participation Program for Ages 2 to 3-1/2
What do you get when you introduce a family to your school in a parent-participation program like 1,2,3...Kick With Me? You raise the potential for increased school enrollment, you assist parents in preparing their little ones for pre-school, and, on top of it all, you have fun!
As well, you produce parents who have a better understanding of the respect and many rules involved with martial arts. As a result, good student habits down the road are reinforced at home.
1,2,3...Kick With Me is a full curriculum, broken down into four 8-week sessions. Each class involves a mat chat much like our Chit Chat @ The Mat program, a warm-up, a simple martial arts concept, a "playdate" between parent and child, and an opportunity for kids to follow instructions as a group.
And, guess what? You might already have a pool of potential student to pull from--the younger siblings of older students!
